The iconic Kohatu Hotel in Tapawera had closed its doors and was for sale when the present owners purchased it and decided to bring some life into it once again. With our expertise we helped to create a beautiful warm and inviting cafe where locals and visitors can come and enjoy great coffee and fantastic food.

The building was completely restored inside and outside retaining as much of the original character as possible. A new verandah was created along both sides and large doors were installed to allow for lovely natural light to flood into the new cafe.

The cafe features beech flooring that complements the beech bench tops and the warm light modern interior.

A full commercial kitchen was installed allowing the chef to create quality fare using fresh local produce.
